How to kill time during your visit of Canton Fair?

As more and more visitors would stay in town or county which is far from the hustle and bustle Guangzhou. It is worthwhile to explore how to kill time.  How about give yourself a treat, by trying those labour intensive services which charges 10% of price from your home country. 

Massage

I always tell my friends who come to Guangzhou, it is irresponsible if you never try massage, esp. when you have spent the whole day wandering in the huge Canton Fair, it is a must to give your leg a treat.

Of course, I have to admit, the service level of massage varies. Ranges from real professional, which perform service better than chiropractor, able to fix your backbone, solve your aches which bother you for decades, to young girls who is only touching your body and not able to relieve any pressure.  Yet, honestly speaking, if you go to those massage house who do not have beautiful girl, usually their standard is not too bad, esp. taken into consideration of their charges, which ranges from US$5-10 for one hr. service.

There is several kinds of massage, the most general one is the full body massage, which they suggest you to spend 1-2 hr. and give your whole body massage. The other is reflexology. This is very Chinese. As Chinese believe there is different acupuncture point on your foot which reflex different part of your body. If any part of your body is not functioning well, then by pressing the related reflex point on your foot, you would feel serious pain and by pressing the point, your body condition would be improved. Many people said, they feel their body become lighter or sleep much better after the reflexology. Some people would even say, you would have a pair of new feet, esp. after you are completely exhausted after a day in Canton Fair.

 Hair Cut

When you wander along the street in China in evening, you may find the hair salon would open until late hours. Many Chinese regard go to salon to wash the hair as one of the pastime in evening. So, no matter you would like to have a hair cut or just want to wash the hair (which they would include head or even back massage), it is worthwhile to have a taste of it.

To have a hair cut would cost about US$2-4, shampoo & blow dry would cost about US$1-2, which definitely is a bargain compare with the price at home.

Beauty salon

A standard treatment facial would cost US$4-10. You would easily find a beauty salon next to your hotel.
 Or if you have concern about the material used for facial treatment, maybe you can start with manicures, pedicures, which you can try the acrylic nails, gel nails etc. Price can start from US$2 for 1-hour service.

 Spa

One of the surprise for you is there is so many spas in Pearl River Delta. It is common for people to finish their day in a spa, or sauna center.  Usually, they charge the price of sauna at around US$10-15, which is equal to entrance fee, which allow you to stay there for 24 hours.

Then you are allowed to use most of the facilities free of charge, include sauna, steam bath, internet access, chess, card, many of them even include free buffet. But you need to pay for extra service such as massage, facial etc. For many Chinese going to spa is part of business entertainment, so they would include all sorts of popular entertainment in China, such as Karaoke, big screen TV to allow you to watch football matches etc.  

In fact, many of them would even allow you to spend the night there, so some smart visitors would stay in these sauna center or spa, and save the huge expense on hotel.
