If you are looking for super cheap accommodation in area close to Pazhou, then definitely this is the one.
Located close to Pazhou Guesthouse Hotel, this guesthouse is also located in Wanshangwei station, i.e. one metro stop from Pazhou, and it takes only 10 min. walk from the metro station.
A double room would cost US$10 per night during Canton Fair period. Yes, TEN Bucks per night only.
Of course, at this price, you cannot expect anything, other than a bed to sleep.
This is located in a typical village building of 4 floors. With the ground floor used as a small restaurant and you would register on the cashier of the restaurant. They have around 15 rooms, and there is no toilet inside the room. On each floor, there are 2 toilets shared by 5 rooms, i.e. maybe among 10 guests. The toilet is used as shower room as well. So, maybe you need to spend sometime to wait for the bathroom in evening and morning.
Besides, the hygiene is not good. As the ground floor is used as restaurant, the floor is extremely slippery. You would feel yourself playing ice skating as you walk on the ground floor. There is various goods stored in the corridor.
Moreover, these are privately run guesthouse, which they do not have the license to operate as a guesthouse, not to mention to accept foreign guest. Of course, they have never received any foreign guests, and none of the staff can speak any English.
As the operators try to keep the cost down, some of the rooms do not have air conditioner and even some of the bed even do not have mattress. So, you need to sleep on the hard wooden panel.
So, make sure you can tolerate all these problems, before you make the booking.
